Ryan is currently a student at Appalachian State University where he is studying to be a History Teacher. He joined our team for the 2024 Summer Season after completing a long and successful swimming career. Throughout his career Ryan competed for The SRAC Sharks, The Marlins of Raleigh and Cleveland High School. Ryan specialized in distance swimming and qualified for State Championships four years in a row in the 200 Freestyle. Swimming brought great joy and lasting memories to Ryan throughout his childhood. He is excited to share his knowledge and passion for the sport with all the members of the HealthQuest Pirates Swim Team. When he is not working as a lifeguard, swim instructor or swim coach; Ryan enjoys spending his free time fishing and reading.
We were excited to welcome Madelyn to the HealthQuest coaching staff during the 2025/2026 season. She coached and taught instructional swimming lessons for the YMCA of the Triangle for the past 5 year. Growing up Madelyn swam for various teams, including Corinth Holders High School. She specialized in the 200 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard butterfly. Madelyn is excited to attend nursing school this Fall and is hoping to be a NICU or PICU nurse. She eventually would like to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is excited to share her knowledge and love of swimming with our swimmers, while helping they become the best versions of themselves. Madelyn enjoys spending her free time with her fur baby, Lola, who is the most adorable doodle and Madelyn's pride and joy.
Aidan join the HealthQuest Pirates for the 2025 / 2026 season. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. Growing up he swim with the Riverwood Rays, Marlins of Raleigh and Cleveland High School. Aidan specialized in distance events including the 200 & 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard butterfly. In addition to swimming competitively for 10 year, Aidan has enjoyed 5 years of sharing his love and passion for the sport of swimming with others while coaching the SRAC Sharks and MOR. Aidan is currently a student at JCC where he is studying to be a Paramedic. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his friends and partaking in outdoor adventures such as camping and hiking.
